Best Crypto Casinos in Canada

Posted by Arthur Crowson .

A crypto casino in Canada is an offshore online casino that accepts deposits and pays withdrawals in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Tether (USDT) or similar coins. Transfers run on the coin’s blockchain rather than through a Canadian bank, so a Canadian player should expect wallet addresses, network confirmations, small network fees and the usual identity checks.

The five casinos we rank here all list at least one cryptocurrency in their cashier, and all five are offshore sites that accept players from Canadian provinces outside Ontario. We assess them the way we assess every operator on our list of online casinos for Canadians: licence, advertised payout time, bonus terms and the payment options actually published. Below we explain how a crypto deposit and withdrawal works, which coins each operator lists, why crypto payouts are advertised as the fastest option, and where the real risks sit.

Best crypto casinos in Canada

The widget below shows our current top five and their welcome offers. Realz advertises the quickest crypto cash-outs of the group (30 minutes to one hour according to its terms), SlotsVader publishes the longest coin list with eight cryptocurrencies, Rooli is the most crypto-forward site with Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash among its 12 methods, Dragonia lists Tron alongside other coins, and OnlyWin combines cryptocurrencies with Interac for players who want both. None of the five is registered with iGaming Ontario, so this page is written for Canadians outside Ontario.

Which coins each casino lists

Coin support is the first thing to check, because a casino that “accepts crypto” may only take one or two networks. The table is built from the payment pages the operators publish. Where an operator says “several cryptocurrencies” without naming them, we say the same; check the cashier after signing up, before you send anything.

OnlyWinCryptocurrencies (not itemised)Interac, Visa, MastercardC$300 to 48 hours after KYC approval, crypto around 24 hoursGovernment of Curaçao (Goodfly N.V.)

Two notes. SlotsVader quotes its crypto minimum and withdrawal limits in euros, so the Canadian-dollar amount moves with the exchange rate. Interac is confirmed on our site only for OnlyWin; for the other four, check the cashier rather than assuming it is there. If a low entry point matters more than coin choice, our minimum deposit casinos page compares the same operators by their lowest accepted amount.

How a crypto deposit works at a casino

Every crypto deposit follows the same five steps, whichever coin and casino you use.

  1. Buy or hold the coin in a wallet you control. Most Canadians buy through an exchange. Crypto trading platforms serving Canadians are expected to register with FINTRAC as money services businesses and to run their own identity checks, so buying the coin is itself a KYC step. You can keep the coin on the exchange or move it to a personal wallet.
  2. Open the casino cashier and pick the coin and the network. This is where mistakes happen. Tether, for example, exists on several networks; Tron (TRC-20) is the one most casinos list because its fees are low. The casino’s deposit screen shows one address for one coin on one network. Sending the same coin on a different network usually means the funds never arrive.
  3. Copy the wallet address or scan the QR code. Paste it into your exchange or wallet’s send screen and compare the first and last few characters before you confirm.
  4. Pay the network fee. The fee goes to the blockchain, not the casino, and it varies by network and by how busy the chain is. Bitcoin and Ethereum fees are generally higher and more variable than Litecoin, Tron, Dogecoin or Bitcoin Cash.
  5. Wait for confirmations. A transaction is “confirmed” each time the network adds a block on top of it. Casinos normally credit a deposit after a set number of confirmations, which can mean a few minutes on fast chains and longer on Bitcoin when the network is congested.

Once credited, the deposit is either converted to a fiat balance (Canadian dollars, euros or US dollars) or held in the coin, depending on the cashier. Our comparison of how two casinos handle crypto deposits for Canadians walks through what that looks like in practice, including where the conversion happens.

How a crypto withdrawal works and why it is advertised as the fastest

Withdrawals reverse the process. You enter your own wallet address in the cashier, choose the coin and network, and request the amount. The casino reviews the request internally and, once approved, broadcasts the transaction to the blockchain. That second step is where crypto earns its reputation: with no bank, card scheme or e-wallet operator in the chain, the coin is typically in your wallet within minutes to about an hour of being sent, depending on the network.

That is why the advertised figures for crypto are consistently the shortest in each operator’s terms. Realz quotes 30 minutes to one hour for crypto against one to three days for cards and three to five days for bank transfer. OnlyWin quotes around 24 hours for crypto within an overall 0 to 48 hour window after KYC approval. Rooli says crypto is “often faster” than its standard 24 to 48 hours after verification. SlotsVader publishes 1 hour to 3 business days without separating crypto from other methods. Dragonia publishes 24 hours to 5 days. All of these are the operators’ own figures.

What the advertised time does not include

The clock in those figures usually starts after the casino’s internal review, which can involve a pending period, a KYC request, or a check that the deposit was wagered enough times. SlotsVader requires deposits to be wagered 3x before withdrawal, and OnlyWin’s window starts only after KYC approval. If a request sits in “pending” beyond the advertised time, the delay is on the casino side, not the blockchain. Our write-up on how one casino’s crypto withdrawals are processed and our broader fast payout casinos comparison both go into what happens between “requested” and “sent”.

Limits still apply

Crypto does not exempt you from withdrawal caps. SlotsVader advertises €500 per day and €10,000 per month regardless of method, so a large win is paid in instalments whatever coin you choose.

Volatility, conversion to CAD and bonuses

What separates crypto from Interac, cards or e-wallets is that the value of what you deposit can change while you play. If a casino holds your balance in Bitcoin, a 5% move in the price between deposit and withdrawal changes your Canadian-dollar result by the same amount, whatever happened at the tables. If the casino converts your deposit to a CAD balance when it is credited, the exposure is limited to the time in transit, but it returns when you withdraw at that day’s price.

Stablecoins are the common answer. Tether (USDT) is pegged to the US dollar, which removes most of the swing, though you still carry the CAD/USD rate. SlotsVader lists Tether; for operators that only say “several cryptocurrencies”, look in the cashier for a stablecoin.

Bonuses work the same way, with one catch

Welcome offers at the five casinos apply to crypto deposits unless the terms say otherwise, and wagering requirements do not change by method: 35x at Realz, 35x on deposit plus bonus at Dragonia, 35x to 45x at Rooli depending on the offer, and a commonly cited 40x on bonus funds at OnlyWin. The catch is that bonus amounts and maximums are usually expressed in a fiat currency, so the match you receive on a crypto deposit is calculated at the conversion rate the casino applies at the time. Our guide to casino bonuses for Canadians explains how to read those terms before you deposit, including the 10-day window Realz puts on its 300% offer.

The risks that are specific to crypto

These risks exist only because you are paying with a cryptocurrency.

  • Transfers are irreversible. There is no chargeback, no cancel button and no bank to call. Coins sent to a wrong address, a closed account or a scam site are gone. This is the biggest practical difference from a card or Interac payment.
  • Wrong network means lost funds. Sending USDT on the Ethereum network to a Tron (TRC-20) address, or Bitcoin Cash to a Bitcoin address, is the most common way players lose a deposit. Some casinos can recover a cross-network transfer for a fee; many cannot. Match the coin and the network exactly, and send a small test amount first if the cashier allows it.
  • KYC still applies at licensed sites. Paying in crypto does not make you anonymous to the casino. Every operator on this page runs identity and address verification before the first withdrawal, and several reserve the right to ask for proof of where your funds came from. Our explainer on KYC and anti-money-laundering checks at Canadian-facing casinos lists what you will typically be asked for. A site that promises no verification at all is a red flag, not a feature.
  • Exchange and wallet security. Your crypto is only as safe as the account or wallet that holds it. Use two-factor authentication on the exchange and keep any seed phrase offline.

We have written a longer piece on the risks of using crypto at online casinos in Canada that goes into each of these with examples, including what to do when a deposit shows as confirmed on the blockchain but has not been credited by the casino.

Taxes, Ontario and provably fair games

Tax note

For most recreational players in Canada, gambling winnings are not treated as taxable income, and that general position does not change because the winnings were paid in Bitcoin rather than dollars. What can change is what happens afterwards: holding a cryptocurrency and later disposing of it at a different price is a separate event, and the Canada Revenue Agency treats crypto dispositions under its own rules. We are not tax advisers. Read our plain-language guides on how Canada taxes gambling and whether casino winnings are taxable in Canada, and speak to an accountant if you are converting significant amounts.

Ontario

None of the five casinos on this page is registered with iGaming Ontario, which means they are not part of the province’s regulated market and Ontario residents should not use them. If you live in Ontario, our Ontario online casino page covers the regulated options instead. Players in the other provinces and territories can use the sites on this page, subject to the age of majority where they live (19 in most provinces, 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec).

Provably fair games

Some crypto-focused casinos offer “provably fair” titles, mostly dice, crash and simple card games, where the outcome comes from a server seed and a client seed you can check after the round against a published hash. It only covers those specific games; the slots and live dealer tables at the five casinos above come from third-party studios and are certified by testing labs instead. We explain the difference and how to run a check in our guide to provably fair gambling and what it does and does not prove.

How we rank crypto casinos

We rank the five operators on the criteria we use across the site, with extra weight on what matters when you pay in crypto: whether the coin list is published, whether the cashier names the network, how the advertised crypto payout time compares with the operator’s other methods, whether withdrawal limits are stated, and whether the licence can be checked (Tobique, Anjouan or Curaçao for this group). Bonus terms count for more than bonus size. If you prefer to keep a bank in the loop, our Interac casinos page covers the same operators from that angle.

FAQ

Are crypto casinos legal in Canada?

Canadian gambling law is aimed at operators rather than players, and Canadians outside Ontario commonly use offshore online casinos, including those that accept cryptocurrency. The casinos themselves are licensed abroad, not by a Canadian regulator. Ontario is the exception: only sites registered with iGaming Ontario are part of its regulated market, and none of the five on this page is.

Which cryptocurrency is best for casino deposits?

For low fees and fast confirmations, Litecoin, Tron (TRC-20) and Bitcoin Cash are the usual choices, and Tether on Tron gives you a stable US-dollar value. Bitcoin is the most widely listed but has higher and more variable fees. The practical answer is whichever coin your chosen casino lists and you already hold on a wallet you control.

How long does a crypto withdrawal take?

The blockchain part is usually minutes to about an hour. The casino’s internal approval is the variable. Of our five, Realz advertises 30 minutes to one hour for crypto, OnlyWin around 24 hours after KYC approval, Rooli 24 to 48 hours after verification with crypto often faster, and SlotsVader and Dragonia publish method-wide ranges. All figures are the operators’ own.

Do I still need to verify my identity if I pay with Bitcoin?

Yes. Every licensed casino on this page runs KYC before the first withdrawal, regardless of payment method, and may ask for proof of the source of your funds. The exchange where you bought the coin will have checked your identity as well. Crypto changes how the money moves; it does not change who the casino has to identify.

What happens if I send coins on the wrong network?

In most cases the deposit never arrives and cannot be reversed. Some casinos can recover certain cross-network transfers for a fee if the address format is compatible, but you should not count on it. Always match both the coin and the network shown in the cashier, check the address characters, and send a small test amount first.

Are crypto casino winnings taxable in Canada?

Recreational gambling winnings are generally not taxed in Canada, whatever currency they are paid in. Holding the crypto afterwards and selling it at a different price is a separate transaction that the Canada Revenue Agency treats under its own rules. We are not tax advisers; read our tax guides linked above and consult an accountant for significant amounts.

Can I use a crypto casino bonus with a Bitcoin deposit?

At the five casinos here, welcome offers apply to crypto deposits unless the bonus terms exclude a method. Wagering requirements are the same as for any other deposit, 35x at Realz and Dragonia, 35x to 45x at Rooli depending on the offer, and a commonly cited 40x on bonus funds at OnlyWin. The bonus amount is calculated in the casino’s fiat currency at its conversion rate.

Gambling should be entertainment, not a way to make money or recover losses. Set a budget before you deposit, never chase losses, and use the deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion tools every casino offers. Support options for Canadians are on our responsible gambling page.
