Transparency: How GambleOnline.ca Makes Money

Posted by G@mb1e0nLineC0 .

GambleOnline.ca is an independent review site for Canadian players. We earn money through affiliate commissions: when you open an account with a casino through a link on this site, that casino may pay us. This page explains how that works, what it does and does not influence, who writes and checks our content, and what we are not.

How we make money

Most pages on GambleOnline.ca contain links to online casinos. Many of those links are affiliate links. If you click one, register and deposit, the operator pays us a commission or a fixed referral fee. You do not pay anything extra; the cost is carried by the operator as a marketing expense.

Affiliate commissions are how the site is funded. We do not sell sponsored reviews, we do not charge operators to appear in our rankings, and we do not accept payment to remove accurate criticism from a review.

Links that take you to a casino go through a tracking address on our own domain (for example /go/casino-name/) before landing on the operator’s site. That is how the operator knows the visit came from us. It does not identify you personally.

What commissions do not change

Affiliate income creates an obvious conflict of interest, so we handle it in the open. Our rankings are built from the criteria described in our editorial policy: licensing, payment methods and advertised withdrawal times, bonus terms and wagering, game selection, support and responsible gambling tools. An operator that pays a higher commission does not rank higher for that reason, and a casino we do not have a commercial relationship with can still be reviewed and recommended.

Every review is expected to include the drawbacks: slow withdrawals, strict bonus conditions, limited support hours, unclear rules. If a page only repeats the positive side of an operator’s marketing, it is not meeting our standard and we want to hear about it.

Operator details such as bonus amounts, minimum deposits, withdrawal times and licences come from the operator’s own published terms and are labelled as advertised. We do not invent figures and we do not claim to have measured what we have not.

Who writes and checks our content

Our content is written by Arthur Crowson, who covers Canadian online gambling, payments and provincial regulation. Each page shows its author, its publication date and the date it was last updated. Where a page has been reviewed by a second person, that reviewer and their credential are named on the page.

We update reviews and rankings when operator terms change, when a licence changes, or when readers report an error. If you find something wrong, use our contact page; corrections are made on the page itself, with the update date changed.

We use software, including AI tools, to help with research and drafting. Facts about operators, licences and payment methods are checked by a person before publication, as described in our editorial policy.

What we are not

GambleOnline.ca is not a casino. We do not operate games, hold player funds or process deposits and withdrawals. Any issue with an account, a bonus or a payout has to be resolved with the operator or its licensing body; we can point you to the right place but we cannot act on your behalf.

The casinos we review for players outside Ontario are licensed abroad and are not registered with iGaming Ontario. Residents of Ontario should use operators listed on our Ontario page. Our province guide explains the rules where you live.

You must be 19 or older to gamble online in most of Canada, and 18 or older in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. If gambling is no longer fun, our responsible gambling page lists free, confidential help in every province.

FAQ

Does GambleOnline.ca get paid by the casinos it recommends?

Often, yes. When you sign up and deposit through one of our links, the casino may pay us a commission. We say so on every page that contains those links, and the commission does not decide the ranking.

Can a casino pay to be ranked first?

No. Rankings follow the criteria in our editorial policy. We do not sell positions, sponsored reviews or the removal of accurate criticism.

Why do your links go through /go/ before reaching the casino?

That address tells the operator the visit came from GambleOnline.ca so the referral can be credited. It does not collect personal information about you.

How do I report a mistake?

Use the contact page. We correct the page itself and update the “last updated” date so you can see the change was made.
