Expert Consensus
GGPoker is a strong fit for players who want to play and review their poker in one client. Hold’em and Omaha sit alongside specialist formats and regular tournaments, while Smart HUD and PokerCraft provide built-in statistics and hand review. Those tools are central to the experience: external trackers and poker automation must be closed before launching the client.
For Ontario players, local authorization and Canadian-dollar games make GGPoker.ca a practical option. Its welcome match rewards regular play, although the amount earned depends on qualifying fees within 90 days. The same distinction runs through Ocean Rewards: the cashback headline is a ceiling, and actual value comes from earned GEMs and redemption. GGPoker’s appeal rests on its poker software and selection; the rewards work best as a supplement to games you already intend to play.
GGPoker Information — Ontario and International
GGPoker in Canada: Ontario and the International Room
GGPoker launched in 2017 and offers peer-to-peer poker: players compete against one another, with the room collecting rake and tournament fees. Ontario players use GGPoker.ca, the locally authorized product with Canadian-dollar terms and a regional lobby.
The international room has a different game menu and promotional programme. Its licence does not establish eligibility in every Canadian province. The account’s location and regional rules determine which product is available, so Ontario’s offers and authorization should remain separate from the international comparison below.
Pros
- Smart HUD and PokerCraft built into the client
- Cash games, short-format poker and scheduled tournaments
- Locally authorized Ontario product with CAD terms
- Published rake caps and incremental bonus-clearing terms
Cons
- External poker trackers and automation must be closed
- Ontario and international game menus and offers differ
- Full deposit match requires substantial qualifying net fees
- Ocean Rewards is more complex than a flat rebate

GGPoker Cash Games, Rush & Cash and Tournaments
Hold’em and Omaha anchor GGPoker’s cash-game offering. Around them, the room adds short-format games, scheduled tournaments and satellites. Ontario has its own lobby and event calendar, while the international room offers additional formats such as Rush & Cash and Flip & Go.
| Poker format | International room | Ontario room |
|---|---|---|
| Regular cash games | Hold’em, Omaha and 6+ Short Deck | Hold’em and Omaha |
| Fast-fold poker | Rush & Cash | Choose from the local lobby’s available formats |
| Short-format games | All-In or Fold, Spin & Gold and Flip & Go | All-In or Fold and Spin & Gold |
| Scheduled tournaments | GGMasters, GGMillion$ and international series | Ontario festivals and regional schedules |
Cash Games and Fast-Fold Poker
Regular Hold’em and Omaha tables suit players who want to stay with a table and follow the action between hands. Internationally, Rush & Cash takes a different approach: folding moves you into another hand against a new group of opponents. That makes it a distinct playing experience rather than another name for an ordinary cash table.
All-In or Fold narrows each decision to pushing or folding. Spin & Gold provides a short sit-and-go format. These choices give players alternatives to a long tournament session, although the shorter structure does not remove the risk of losing a buy-in.
Tournaments and WSOP Events
The international calendar includes GGMasters and GGMillion$, plus satellites and WSOP-branded series. Ontario’s calendar includes regional festivals, bounty events and its own daily schedule. A satellite awards entry or a specified package under its terms; it should not be read as a cash prize or an automatic travel package.
Choose the event from your regional lobby and read its buy-in, fee, structure and prize details there. International series names and guarantees do not establish that an Ontario account can enter the same event.
Traffic and Table Availability
GGPoker’s range gives players several ways to find a game, but the useful measure is the action at your preferred stake and usual playing time. Ontario’s regional pool can produce a different selection from the international lobby. A large brand-wide tournament schedule does not guarantee that a particular cash table will be running.
GGPoker Rake, Caps and Tournament Fees
GGPoker’s playing costs vary by game. In cash games, rake is taken from the pot up to a cap. That cap is the maximum that can come from a single raked pot under the listed schedule, not a session fee. The following examples are from Ontario’s ordinary six-max No-Limit Hold’em schedule. Amounts are in Canadian dollars; other formats have separate pricing.
Ontario Six-Max Hold’em Rake Examples
| Ontario six-max NLHE blinds | Rake | Cap: 2 players | 3 players | 4 players | 5+ players |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| CA$0.01/0.02 | 5% | CA$0.05 | CA$0.10 | CA$0.15 | CA$0.20 |
| CA$0.05/0.10 | 5% | CA$0.25 | CA$0.50 | CA$0.75 | CA$1 |
| CA$0.25/0.50 | 5% | CA$1 | CA$2 | CA$3 | CA$4 |
The percentage stays at 5% in these examples, but the cap rises with both stakes and the number of players dealt in. The relevant player-count column matters as much as the advertised percentage. At CA$0.25/0.50, for example, the cap is CA$1 with two players and CA$4 with five or more. A larger cap allows a larger deduction from sufficiently large pots; it does not mean that maximum is charged on every hand.
Other Formats and Additional Charges
Rush & Cash, PLO and All-In or Fold have their own schedules. Compare the exact format, stakes and player-count rules before carrying these Hold’em figures across to another game. Tournament entries also distinguish the prize-pool contribution from the fee. The total buy-in alone does not show how much goes toward the prizes.
Rake and tournament fees are the cost of playing. Bonus releases and loyalty rewards can return some value, but their eligibility rules differ. Subtracting an advertised maximum cashback percentage from the table’s rake does not produce a dependable cost estimate.
GGPoker Welcome Bonuses: Ontario and International Offers
Ontario’s welcome offer combines a reward package with a matched deposit. The international offer gives new players a choice between rewards and a match. Neither match is credited as immediately withdrawable cash: it unlocks in increments through eligible net rake and tournament fees.
| Product | Headline offer | Matched-bonus release | Time allowed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ontario | CA$200 reward package + 100% to CA$777 | CA$1 per CA$5 eligible net fees | 90 days |
| International | Up to $100 rewards OR 100% to $600 | $1 per $5 eligible net fees | 90 days |
Ontario Welcome Package
Eligible new players aged 19+ and physically in Ontario get an advertised CA$200 reward package made up of CA$150 in ticket rewards and up to P$50 through challenges, plus a 100% first-deposit match up to CA$777. Tickets and P$ are restricted play value, not freely withdrawable cash. The match releases at CA$1 per CA$5 in eligible net fees, so clearing the full CA$777 requires CA$3,885 in eligible net fees within 90 days. A withdrawal cancels any remaining locked bonus or unawarded tickets.
International Match and Clearing Example
International players choose either up to $100 in rewards or a 100% match up to $600. The release rate is $1 per $5 in eligible net fees over 90 days. That means a $100 matched amount needs $500 in eligible net fees to clear fully, while the $600 maximum needs $3,000. Eligible net fees can be adjusted for factors including tournament overlays and payment costs. The calculation therefore uses qualifying fees rather than every dollar of headline rake. Unreleased value expires after 90 days, and withdrawing cancels remaining locked bonus funds or unawarded tickets. These are earning targets, not an estimate of how much a player will win or lose.
Ocean Rewards: Tide Points, GEMs and Cashback
Ocean Rewards replaced Fish Buffet in January 2026. It separates status from spendable rewards: Tide Points move an account through the tiers, while GEMs are redeemed for rewards. Building status and collecting cash value are different steps.
How Points and GEMs Differ
| Ocean Rewards feature | International | Ontario |
|---|---|---|
| Published poker Tide Point rate | 100 TP per $1 in rake | 70 TP per CA$1 in rake |
| Maximum advertised cashback | Up to 80% | Up to 80% |
| Reward redemption | International GEM reward shop | Ontario GEM reward shop |
The international programme starts at Fish and progresses through Shrimp, Crab, Turtle, Octopus, Dolphin, Whale and Shark. Tide Points reset annually. GEMs are awarded separately, with a tier-based multiplier; they are not a direct conversion of Tide Points.
What the Cashback Headline Means
The 80% headline describes the upper end of the programme. A player’s actual reward depends on GEM earnings, tier and the redemption selected. Ontario uses its own earning and shop scale, so international redemption thresholds should not be used to calculate a Canadian-dollar reward.
This makes Ocean Rewards more involved than a flat weekly rebate. For a useful comparison, look at the rewards available in your account and the fees from your usual games. A maximum advertised percentage is a poor substitute for that calculation.
GGPoker Software, Smart HUD and Game Security
GGPoker puts statistics and hand review inside its own software. That gives players a built-in way to follow opponents and revisit sessions, while the room’s restrictions on external tools set a clear limit on what can run alongside the client.
Smart HUD and PokerCraft
Smart HUD displays player statistics in the client. PokerCraft provides hand-history and session-review tools, allowing players to revisit decisions after a game. Having both in the same ecosystem is useful for players who want to review their play without installing an external tracker.
They should still be judged on their own functions. In-client statistics are not a promise of an unrestricted external hand database, and the availability of review tools does not imply permission to run third-party assistance during a session.
External Tools and Account Protection
Both the Ontario and international sites publish an updated restriction on third-party poker software and automation. Named examples include PokerTracker 4, Holdem Manager 3, Hand2Note, Jurojin, Equilab and AutoHotkey. The instruction is to close these applications before launching GGPoker. The native Smart HUD remains part of the client.
The security update follows an incident discussed by GGPoker and describes additional detection and client-protection measures. It provides context for the tighter tool rules, rather than grounds for a claim that cheating cannot occur.
For account protection, GGPoker recommends two-factor authentication, passkeys and a Fund password. Use a unique password and official downloads, and report suspicious activity through support with the relevant hand or tournament reference. These controls protect different parts of the account; none establishes a guaranteed payout record.
GGPoker Banking, Verification and Withdrawals
Ontario’s withdrawal policy separates the room’s approval process from the time a bank takes to deliver the funds. It also ties cashouts to the methods used to fund the account. Those rules matter when choosing a deposit route, especially if you plan to use several methods.
Canadian Banking and Interac
GGPoker.ca’s withdrawal help includes Interac. The local cashier shows the routes available to your account, together with the applicable limits and fees. An international payment option is not automatically an Ontario option, and a method that accepts deposits may have different cashout rules.
Use a payment account in your own name and keep its details current. Before funding, establish which route will receive a withdrawal and whether a bank or processor applies conversion or transaction charges.
Verification and Cashout Timing
Ontario withdrawals undergo an internal audit. Identity, address and payment-ownership checks can be required, including additional verification for some transactions. The published processing estimate is generally 24 hours, with some requests taking up to 72 hours. Bank transfers can then take another 1–3 business days to arrive.
| Ontario cashout condition | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Operator processing | Generally 24 hours; sometimes up to 72 hours |
| Bank-transfer settlement | Allow another 1–3 business days after processing |
| Payment routing | Return to original funding methods where possible |
| Fees | Disclosed on the request screen; bank or processor charges can also apply |
| Interac | Available through the Ontario cashier where offered for the account |
Fees, Payment Routing and Locked Rewards
Under the closed-loop policy, funds return to their original deposit methods where possible. Multiple funding routes are refunded proportionally. Amounts above the original deposits go to the dominant payment method used during the previous six months.
The cashier discloses operator fees before the request; the receiving bank or processor may charge separately. The Ontario banking page also allows additional verification and play requirements for some withdrawals. No single turnover figure covers every account. Withdrawing during a welcome offer cancels remaining locked bonus value or unawarded tickets, so review the warning before confirming a request.
GGPoker Mobile Play, Support and Player Controls
Desktop and Mobile Clients
GGPoker offers downloads for Windows, Mac, Android and iOS. Use the official site for your regional account when choosing an installer. Ontario’s website and mobile app operate under the local account terms, rather than the international offer pages.
A supported device does not establish that every format or feature is identical on every version. Check the current client for your preferred games, and install updates through the official download route. If a connection fails during play, contact support with the hand or tournament details.
Support and Safer Play
Ontario account support is available at [email protected]. The local site provides email and live-chat assistance, including 24/7 responsible-gambling support. International contacts are [email protected] for general questions and [email protected] for payment matters.
Ontario players can set deposit limits and use self-exclusion through the logged-in responsible-gambling section. A self-exclusion selected there takes effect immediately; an emailed request can take up to 24 hours. Ontario’s central BetGuard programme is a separate option covering regulated online gambling sites. Bonus deadlines and loyalty targets should not dictate playing time or override a limit.
GGPoker Licensing and Canadian Player Eligibility
Ontario Authorization and Other Provinces
iGaming Ontario lists GGPoker.ca in its regulated market. The site is operated by NSUS Limited, company registration 580602, under AGCO operator registration OPIG1231707. Players must be at least 19 and physically in Ontario to use the local gambling service.
The international room is operated by GG International Limited. The Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission’s register lists an active Network Services licence for the company and names ggpoker.com. That is a different authorization from Ontario’s. It does not establish provincial approval or player eligibility throughout Canada.
Regulatory Record and Protection
NSUS Limited’s record also includes a UK enforcement action. On 12 October 2022, the UK Gambling Commission imposed a £672,829 penalty for social-responsibility and anti-money-laundering failures connected to ggpoker.co.uk.
That historical UK action should be distinguished from the current Ontario authorization and the international company’s Isle of Man licence. For an account or withdrawal dispute, use the complaints process attached to the regional product holding the account. A licence identifies oversight; it does not guarantee an individual payment or eliminate account checks.
The Verdict, by Who You Are
GGPoker suits players who value an integrated poker client. Its cash games, tournament schedules, Smart HUD and PokerCraft give the account a clear purpose beyond collecting a welcome offer. Ontario players also get a locally authorized service with Canadian-dollar terms.
The trade-off is a more managed playing environment. External poker tools must be closed, game access follows the regional lobby, and rewards depend on qualifying fees and redemption rules. Players happy with that approach have good reason to consider GGPoker. Anyone committed to a particular tracker or format should check compatibility first. Assess the games and playing costs on their own merits before adding the possible value of promotions.
