TonyBet’s Canadian welcome offer is bigger than almost anything else in this market — up to C$2,500 plus 225 bonus spins across four deposits — and the wagering multiplier is a competitive 30x. On paper that is the best headline in this comparison set.
The catch is in one line of the bonus terms: “Table games, crash games, bonus buy games and live dealer games do NOT count towards bonus wagering requirements.” Not reduced. Zero. If you play live dealer or table games, this bonus is unavailable to you in practice, and with a bonus active the excluded games are actually locked.
Also worth knowing before you compare: the sportsbook welcome offer is a completely separate and far smaller deal at C$100, and TonyBet runs two distinct provincial products — tonybet.ca for Ontario and tonybetalberta.ca for Alberta. Its own FAQ states the Ontario site is only for Ontario residents.
Currency is not in doubt here: the terms express withdrawal limits directly in CAD, and the FAQ confirms deposits in other currencies are converted to Canadian dollars.

About TonyBet
TonyBet traces back to an Estonian operator called OmniBet, founded in 2003, which the Lithuanian-Australian professional poker player Antanas “Tony G” Guoga acquired and renamed after himself in the late 2000s. He later became a member of the European Parliament. The brand still carries his name, though we found no confirmation of a current operational role.
A clarification since the dates circulating are inconsistent: the operator’s own About page says 2003 as OmniBet with the Guoga acquisition in 2009, while the meta description on that same page says “Founded in 2011.” We report the origin rather than pick a founding year.
In Ontario it operates as Ligtip Limited, a Malta company, under AGCO registration OPIG1239101. It is independent of Betsson — Betsson bought TonyBet’s Lithuanian business in 2016 and rebranded it Betsafe, but TonyBet itself is separate. Current CEO is Dmitry Arabuli.

C$2,500 at 30x is the most generous headline in this market, and for a slots player it is genuinely good. For anyone else it is close to worthless: live dealer, table games, crash and bonus-buy titles contribute nothing at all, and the platform locks them while the bonus is live. Licensing and Where You Can Actually Play
Ontario
TonyBet’s About page states that LIGTIP LIMITED, based in Birkirkara, Malta, “is registered with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO) of Ontario under number OPIG1239101 and operates under an agreement with iGaming Ontario.” The iGaming Ontario directory confirms it, listing operator “Ligtip Limited” with the site tonybet.ca under both Casino and Sports Betting categories. Minimum age 19.
The site’s own FAQ is unusually blunt about geography: “Our website is configured to only be accessed from Ontario where gambling is legal. Please note that you can only use our site if you reside in Ontario, Canada.” If you are not in Ontario, tonybet.ca is not for you.
On when it started in Ontario: sources conflict — one trade outlet says an AGCO licence from 2022, another from 2021, and Wikipedia says 2025. We quote no start year.
Alberta
TonyBet is listed in the official Alberta registered iGaming sites directory as “Tonybet Sportsbook & Casino” at tonybetalberta.ca, under both Sportsbook and Casino categories, following the province’s market opening on 13 July 2026. Alberta’s directory does not publish the operating entity, so we cannot tell you which company holds that registration. Minimum age 18.
We could not examine the Alberta product directly — it redirects to the Ontario site from outside the province — so every bonus and payment figure in this review is the Ontario product unless stated otherwise. Assume Alberta terms may differ until you see them.
Elsewhere
The Estonian group entity, Tonybet OÜ, appears in the Kahnawake Gaming Commission’s permit-holder register with the domain tonybet.com/ca — but that register page carries a “Updated September 28, 2023” date, so its current status is uncertain, and no permit number is published. Combined with the FAQ’s Ontario-only statement, we would not tell you to count on access from other provinces.
TonyBet surrendered both of its UK licences on 5 April 2024 and no longer operates there. We found no MGA licence for the brand.

One internal contradiction to be aware of: the official FAQ still states “our 100% first deposit bonus is limited to CAD 120,” which conflicts with the C$1,000 on the promotions page. The FAQ appears out of date, but if a support agent quotes you C$120, that is where it comes from.
The Clause That Decides Everything
From the bonus terms: “Wagers on slots contribute 100% towards bonus wagering requirements. Table games, crash games, bonus buy games and live dealer games do NOT count towards bonus wagering requirements.”
Compare that to competitors who weight table games at 8% or 10%: here it is zero, and the terms add that with a bonus active your access to excluded games is blocked until you complete, abandon or expire it. So accepting the welcome offer does not just make table play inefficient — it removes it from your account for up to 14 days.
Real money is also wagered before bonus money, which works in your favour: your own funds clear first and remain withdrawable.
Win Caps You Should Know Before You Win
Maximum payable winnings from a no-deposit bonus: C$80. From cashback, comp points, tournaments, VIP bonuses, weekly bonuses or any deposit bonus other than the welcome offer: C$10,000, with anything above that forfeited before you can request a withdrawal. Those withdrawals are also subject to a review of up to 14 business days.
Only one bonus can be active at a time and deposit bonuses do not stack. There is also an anti-abuse rule: if your “bonus ratio” exceeds 40% across several deposits, TonyBet can suspend your bonus eligibility entirely.
The Sportsbook Offer Is a Different, Smaller Thing
Up to C$100 as a bonus bet — a 100% match on a C$20 minimum deposit, capped at C$100. You must wager 5x your initial deposit, on odds of -200 or longer for singles or -143 or longer for parlays. The bonus bet you receive can only be used on a parlay of three or more selections, and the stake itself is not withdrawable even though winnings are. Excluded from the rollover: void or cancelled bets, anything cashed out, outrights, and horse, harness and greyhound racing.
Comparing TonyBet’s “C$2,500” against another book’s sports welcome offer is comparing two unrelated products. For sports betting the figure to use is C$100.
Payments and Withdrawal Limits
The Limits, Stated in CAD
TonyBet publishes these directly in Canadian dollars, which removes the ambiguity most of this market leaves in place:

- Maximum daily C$4,000

- Maximum monthly C$50,000
The C$4,000 daily ceiling is the one to plan around. On a large win you are looking at staged payouts across days or weeks rather than a single transfer — and the monthly cap means a C$50,000 win takes a minimum of a month to collect.
Timing
The terms state TonyBet “aims to process withdrawals within 48 hours once the customer’s account is fully verified,” and the FAQ repeats it. E-wallets are faster: “We try to process all e-wallet withdrawal requests within 12 hours.” Credit and debit cards can take up to 7 business days to reach the bank after processing.
Two rules that catch people out. Withdrawals must use the same method you deposited with, and only to an account in your own name. And if documents are requested while a withdrawal is pending, you have 7 calendar days to supply them — miss that and the withdrawal is rejected and the funds returned to your balance.
Methods, and What Is Not Here
Confirmed from the operator: Interac (Direct Credit), GIGADAT and Payper — instant deposits, withdrawals in 1 to 3 business days. We could not render the full payments table, so there may be more rails than these.
What we could not confirm, and so will not list as available: Interac e-Transfer specifically (the official text says Interac “Direct Credit”), iDebit, Instadebit and cryptocurrency. None appear in any official page. Several affiliate sites list some of these; treat those claims with suspicion.

TonyBet publishes no catalogue total, and the affiliate estimates differ by a factor of five — one says 1,200+, another says over 6,000. Quoting either would be guessing. The platform runs through the aggregator St8, which connects over 200 studios through one integration and received AGCO approval in October 2025. That is the structural reason the catalogue can expand quickly, and the reason point-in-time counts go stale.
Live dealer has its own lobby with Evolution and Games Global tables. There is no poker product on the Ontario site, despite TonyBet’s historical association with Open Face Chinese Poker — if you came for online poker, it is not here.

Trust Signals: A Fine Worth Reading About
Trustpilot for tonybet.ca: 2.9 out of 5 from 168 reviews. The distribution is sharply bimodal — 36% five-star and 43% one-star — which usually means an operator that works well until something goes wrong, then goes badly. The profile is claimed, carries a paid subscription, and TonyBet responds to roughly 96% of negative reviews, which is a genuinely good engagement record. The global tonybet.com profile sits higher at 3.5 from 1,790 reviews; for a Canadian decision the .ca figure is the relevant one.
The UK Fine
In January 2023 the UK Gambling Commission fined TonyBet £442,750. The findings are worth knowing because they describe the kind of operator you are dealing with: inadequate anti-money-laundering risk assessment and controls; failure to identify and interact with customers showing signs of harm; and unfair terms — specifically, imposing stricter identification requirements to withdraw than to deposit, confiscating winnings if a customer did not supply AML documentation within 30 days, and classifying accounts dormant at 6 months instead of 12. A third-party audit was imposed. TonyBet surrendered its UK licences in April 2024.
That matters here because two of those practices have echoes in the current Canadian terms: documents demanded at withdrawal with a 7-day deadline, and win caps that forfeit the excess. The UK regulator found that pattern unfair; Ontario’s regulator has not published any action against Ligtip Limited, and we found none.
A Dutch regulator warning in February 2025 over language support appears in secondary sources only; we could not confirm it with the regulator and mention it with that caveat.

The Verdict, by Who You Are

If you play live dealer or table games: do not take the bonus. Zero contribution, and the games get locked while it is active. Deposit without it and keep full access to the floor.
If you bet sports: the real number is C$100, not C$2,500. The sportsbook itself is strong — 767 markets on a single NHL game, proper CFL coverage, cash out including partial — but judge the offer on its own terms.
